During the courses of Ph.D program, I thought about the topic for dissertation very much. I considered about higher education and use qualitative method to collect data as I did MA thesis before. I am interested in internationalization in higher education. My major is comparative education, therefore, I want to do a comparison between my home country-Vietnam and my second-home country- Taiwan. I know that there is a professor who does research about Vietnam and specialize in internationalization and globalization in higher education. However, I am afraid that I will have difficulty in collecting data because of my Chinese and the relationship in Vietnam to invite participants enjoy my research... I am asked about my dissertation topic in each course that make me worry and pressure....
In the second semester of my first year Ph.D program, there was a professor who I always respect and admire, write email to ask me whether I take his statistics course or not. He would open it in English. Certainly, I chose it because it's rarely to have an English course although my Ph.D program is in English. It's special course with a student only.
